Dear Oh Sees enthusiasts and lay-people alike,

John Dwyer and company are readying some things at the gentler end of the volume dial. Last year’s return to the moniker OCS heralded a return to the hushed, weird, and wonderful of John’s early records as OCS and The Ohsees, and they did but two shows in that quieter but lush incarnation, at the Chapel in San Francisco, to inaugurate the release of the record.

That show produced the previously handmade and mail-order only OCS Live In San Francisco release by Rock Is Hell, which is about to be available in stores and in a condensed 2 X LP set for those of you that missed it the first time around. You can pre-order at https://rockishell.bigcartel.com

OCS will also be doing a similar limited performance run of mellow OCS tunes in Brooklyn this December with an 8 piece band, including Brigid Dawson (singing her head off), Tim Hellman (bass), Paul Quattrone (drums), Tom Dolas (keys), Eric Clark (violin), Heather Lockie (viola) and Emily Elkin (cello). It’ll be going down December 16th 2018 at Murmrr Theatre in Brooklyn, NY and you can get tickets here:

Finally Castle-Face Records will be re-issuing a string of Oh Sees records from this same “quiet era” that have long been out of print, beginning with “The Cool Death of Island Raiders”, slated for February 2019.
