Wooden Shjips have shared “Red Line,” the new single taken from their upcoming album V. V will be out on May 25th via Thrill Jockey and “Red Line” is further proof that the band is the current backbone of the psychedelic scene for a new era. “Red Line” is a life affirming track that sheds some of the darker tones of previous releases. Ripley Johnson of Wooden Shjips says this of the song: “This song is about trying to find equanimity as life continuously pulls you in different directions, emotionally and psychically. The bursts of backwards guitar are the sonic representation of that, being pulled out of your normal forward momentum, as the beat goes on.”
