The always excellent Osees release their latest single, “Stunner” complete with a video (or is that a visualiser?) that finds the band in the studio surrounded by crew and drones. “Stunner” is a taut, punchy and skronky tune that features a dollop of Zappa influence in doses. In other words, “Stunner” is a fucking jam. “Stunner” is taken from the band’s latest album, Intercepted Message, which will be available on August 18th via In The Red. Watch the video below for your edification and read the words of John Dwyer after the press.
The ever prolific and constantly frenetic OSEES recently announced details for their forthcoming LP, Intercepted Message, due August 18 via In The Red. Following the release of the record’s first two singles — “Intercepted Message” and “Goon” — today, the band shares its latest cut, “Stunner,” alongside a music video directed by Matt Yoka.
As John Dwyer wrote of the new single and its accompanying visual:
“‘they’re not so bad for you
all of those drugs you do
and in the future you, find something else to do
they’re looking up to you
you looks so beautiful
sick, fix up in the queue
so, now let’s all review’
Life is a short hot mess
take a breath in the moments when you’re not taking it right in the face
frenetic tunes for scattered times
Matt Yoka came up with the idea of filming us playing the song in our rehearsal space with as many people as we could fit
and as many formats as he could stomach.
Hi vis on all the kids
Constricted & claustrophobic just as contemporary routines can be
Noise, obstacle and pointless spectacle
There is no escape!
good luck”
Stay tuned for the full-length Intercepted Message LP, out August 18.
