Horse people! Unite! The time is now with Rainsford’s latest video for “Horse!” It’s not a bad tune, the video is a little off but maybe you’ll dig it.
Rainsford takes to the ranch in the video for her latest single, “Horse,” out now via Sparta Distribution. The clip, directed and edited by Anthony Wilson, features Rainsford, aka Rainey Qualley, expressing the push/pull, highs and lows of love. Rainey wrote the defiant track a couple of years back with Michael Kamerman (Smallpools), who also produced the song. Watch it here.
Discussing the video, Rainey offers, “The music video for ‘Horse’ is my favorite i’ve made yet, and it was truly a labor of love. I’m so lucky to collaborate with the incredibly talented director/photographer, Tony Wilson, who also took all the images for my upcoming album. Some of our best friends did the production and cinematography. I found vintage horse T’s on ebay to wear for styling. And rented out a garage in Atwater to come up with the choreography. My inner child found some satisfaction in making this video come to life as well, having grown up dancing. I used to envision myself as a pop star dancing in music videos on MTV. But, hey, i’m happy with YouTube. We got to hang with some gorgeous horses. I rolled around in the dirt. And our five month old baby was on set being passed between our arms for every take!”
“Horse” arrives hot on the heels of Rainsford’s “See Me Cry,” from the feature full-length film Off The Record, starring Qualley and Ryan Hansen, and directed by Kirsten Foe, which arrived in theaters this month. Together they point to a new creative period for Rainsford after taking some time to focus on being a new mom.
