The Austin-based cinema-eatery will host the screening of  Universal Pictures’ highly-anticipated Jordan Peele horror epic NOPE at Sunset Ranch Hollywood.

Alamo Drafthouse’s cross-country Rolling Roadshow summer tour continues with THE LION KING Family Party set within Lincoln Park Zoo’s historic lion house in Chicago, home of the upcoming Alamo Drafthouse Wrigleyville.

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is heading out west for another once-in-a-lifetime event in their 25th Anniversary Rolling Roadshow celebration. On Monday, July 25th, the acclaimed cinema-eatery is saddling up for a very special screening of Oscar-winner Jordan Peele’s NOPE, from Universal Pictures and Monkeypaw Productions, at Sunset Ranch Hollywood. Guests will enjoy hiking in the Hollywood hills, horseback rides to the Hollywood sign, stunning photo ops, exclusive content before the film, food and drinks inspired by the film, free commemorative gifts, and fun surprises.

“Signature events like these are always energizing for the whole team,” said Shelli Taylor, CEO of Alamo Drafthouse. “Creating memorable experiences while celebrating films from exciting artists like Jordan Peele is what we’re all about. It’s what has enabled us to thrive and expand for 25 years.”

The screening, which is set to begin around 8:45pm, will be held within a horse corral surrounded by 70+ horses in stables. NOPE is the latest horror feature from writer/director Jordan Peele, following his previously acclaimed films GET OUT and US. The film, in theaters July 22nd, stars Oscar-winner Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, and Oscar-nominee Steven Yeun as residents in a lonely gulch of inland California who bear witness to an uncanny and chilling discovery. Tickets and more information available HERE.

In honor of NOPE’s release, Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas will also offer a limited-time menu inspired by the southwest setting of the film. Guests can enjoy the Sheriff’s Office Pork Belly Pizza, Haywood Ranch Cowboy Dip, and two signature cocktails, Skyy Dancer Lemonade and Blood Rain Skyy Punch. The new themed menu will be available at all Alamo Drafthouse locations starting on July 14th.

On Friday, September 16th, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and the Lincoln Park Zoo present another stop on their 25th Anniversary tour in Chicago, IL, with a wild movie-going experience set within the TAWANI Great Hall at the newly renovated Pepper Family Wildlife Center. Guests will enjoy Walt Disney Pictures’ beloved animated classic THE LION KING just a few feet away from a pride of African lions with views from all angles, including overhead skylights. Guests are encouraged to bring their whole pride for this all-ages, interactive Alamo Drafthouse Family Party that celebrates the film with themed games, hands-on crafts, and fun activities for the kids before the show. Further details and tickets will be available soon.

“We’ve got so much cool stuff in store for you this year,” says Tim League, Alamo Drafthouse co-founder and Executive Chairman. “These events are more than just a celebration of our anniversary, they’re an expression of our love for film, that same love we’ve shared with our guests for 25 years.”

Chicago is also the future home of the upcoming Alamo Drafthouse Wrigleyville, in the Addison and Clark development directly across the street from the beloved Wrigley Field, currently slated to open November 2022. The 6-screen theater will introduce Alamo Drafthouse’s iconic brand of cinema exhibition to the Chicago marketplace for the first time. Complete with a custom Ferris Bueller photo opportunity, Video Vortex-themed bar (Video Vortex is Alamo Drafthouse’s curated revival of the video rental store), award-winning in-theater dining, and exciting signature programming, Alamo Drafthouse Wrigleyville will provide a unique cinema experience for Windy City movie-goers.

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema

Founded in 1997, Alamo Drafthouse has been heralded for unique programming events, great food and drinks, and high exhibition standards, earning accolades including “Best Theater Ever” by Time Magazine and “The Coolest Theater in the World” by Wired. A September 2018 Market Force Information survey of nearly 13,000 moviegoers across the country gave Alamo Drafthouse the #1 ranking for Favorite Movie Theater, Best Service, and all food and beverage-related categories.

Alamo Drafthouse provides a unique combination of theater and restaurant, showing first-run movies, independent films and special events with an extensive menu made from scratch. Guests order all food and drinks from servers who quietly attend to them throughout the movie from inside the theater. Patrons are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the pre-show entertainment. Instead of a barrage of advertising, Alamo Drafthouse shows a curated collection of rare and humorous clips themed to each feature.

Additionally, Alamo Drafthouse protects the theatrical experience with a zero tolerance policy for people who disrupt the film with talking or texting. Alamo Drafthouse’s “Don’t Talk” PSAs have frequently received national attention, and have featured former Texas Governor Ann RichardsJeff Goldblum and a velociraptorGeorgie from IT, THE ROOM director and star Tommy Wiseau, and one very angry voicemail.
