New Jersey’s All Under Heaven and High. present a split single, “Moving On” b/w “Someone You Adore,” via Sunday Records. Coming from the NJ scene and having played plenty of shows together, it only made sense for All Under Heaven and High. to team up. Their split 7” features two new tracks that highlight what each band does best.
“Moving On” follows All Under Heaven’s “stunning” (The Alternative) 2024 debut What Lies Ahead Of Me. Recorded at the legendary Studio 4, the track surges with massive guitar and an earworm chorus. It’s a sweeping new offering, as the band leans into a more polished alt-rock sound. “‘Moving On’ reflects on feelings of confidence and overcoming self doubt,” says vocalist Nick DeFrabritus. “I tend to be very self conscious and have a low self esteem regardless of any success or failure. Whether that’s due to my mental health or the time we are living in; I’m not too sure. I am trying to regain my confidence and understand my worth through this song. Reassuring to myself that I deserve to be here and I’m not going anywhere, regardless of what anyone thinks.”
High.’s “Someone You Adore” creates a complimentary dynamic to “Moving On.” It’s hazy and desiring, as Christian Castan’s vocals bleed into buzzing guitar and crashing percussion. “‘Someone You Adore’ is about the quiet devastation of longing,” says the band’s Christian Castan. “When someone feels so close, but emotionally miles away. I wrote it to sound like a memory you can’t stop replaying. ‘Perception can become its own kind of truth’ — What we feel and what’s real aren’t always the same thing. Simple on purpose, to echo all things left unsaid.”
