For those who want to be a little more indulgent with their functional mushrooms, Feral Fungi also offers mushroom-infused coffee, as well as mushroom maple syrup. The coffee starts with a freshly roasted coffee from Water Avenue Coffee based out of Portland, OR and is infused with 100% U.S. grown and processed extracts. The Syrups are made with local pure Organic Maple Syrup and a concentrate of their Spagyric Tinctures.

Each mushroom, lichen, or sclerotia is extracted in specially developed equipment at their facility in Estacada, OR.

ABOUT THE EXTRACTION PROCESS + SOURCING

Feral Fungi offers the most holistic mushroom products available, made with ethically and sustainably sourced ingredients. Their premium mushroom extracts are inspired by the Alchemical Tradition and are Spagyrically prepared from the fruiting bodies of North American mushrooms, primarily from the Pacific Northwest. The art of Spagyrics and Alchemy is based in the observation of nature and the earnest attempt to mimic the patterns that are rooted in the cycles of the natural world. The 3 part process includes: Distilling into a pure essential oil, Fermenting it, then Distilling it again multiple times  Everything left behind in the distillation process is strained, collected, and boiled down into a thick tar/ honey. Once separated and purified these principles are recombined to complete the Spagyric preparation. In the end what is left is the material you started with in an exalted form, stripped of its impurities, making it a medicine that is more holistic, potent, and less prone to agitating constitutional imbalances within the patient.  These extracts are also considered to be living medicines as they contain all of the component parts that they began with and nothing is lost. Merely purified, refined, and exalted into a more potent presentation of itself.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER, JASON SCOTT

Jason Scott is a Mycologist and Alchemist. He founded Feral Fungi in 2016 while he was researching and teaching about Medicinal Mushrooms and Hermetic Alchemy. After spending years exploring how to extract mushrooms according to the Alchemical tradition, Jason presented Feral Fungi’s original planetary set of mushroom spagyric tinctures. Initially intended to be a one-time offering, the feedback was clear – people wanted high-quality, locally-sourced, locally-processed fruit-body extracts.
