These are the best songs that I have heard in 2022 so far. I am constantly listening to new music daily, so it’s somewhat overwhelming to pick out favorites. The songs that are included made a strong impression on me through their artistry and/or lyricism. Most of these songs are highlights especially Spiritualized’s return “Best Thing You Never Had (The D Song) and the rising Fontaines D.C. with “I Love You.” If you will notice, there is not a whole lot of pure pop music on the list, probably because my head is in a different space. There is nothing super-duper obscure on my list either. Perhaps I’m just middle of the road. It’s time to head for the ditch.
