Ty Segall has shared “Running to Nowhere,” the second single from his upcoming album Chrome, arriving August 28via Drag City. Following the release of the riff-heavy lead single “Black Paint,” the new track leans even harder into Segall’s fuzz-drenched garage rock roots, pairing crushing low-end guitars with abrasive vocal howls while still finding room for melodic hooks.

Produced with his touring band, Chrome marks Segall’s 18th solo album and promises a return to the explosive psych-garage sound that has made him one of rock’s most prolific and unpredictable artists. Alongside the LP, Segall will also release a companion EP, Love Fuzzz, on the same day.

If “Black Paint” hinted at classic, harmony-filled rock ‘n’ roll, “Running to Nowhere” cranks up the distortion, delivering a raw blast of noise-rock energy that recalls some of Segall’s heaviest work while continuing to push his ever-evolving sound forward.

Fans can stream “Running to Nowhere” now and look forward to the full release of Chrome on August 28.
