I wish there could be a reunion of Crystal Castles but I know that will never happen. In lieu of that, here’s Alice Glass’ new tune “Remains” and in my opinion, it’s missing something. How’s that for subtle?
Los Angeles’ Alice Glass teams up with New York City’s Clip for their new song “REMAINS.” Alongside the new single, Alice and Clip share the Respective Collective-created visuals, which sees the pair dancing in delis, cruising in cars, and walking the streets of New York City through a distorted and pixelated lens. “REMAINS” marks the first taste of a larger project to come from Alice later this year.
Speaking about “REMAINS,” Alice shares, “When I first heard Clip’s music, I immediately thought her voice has a unique magic to it. Clip has always been so kind to me and when I thought about who I wanted to collaborate with for this project, she was the first artist that came to mind. I’m really proud of what we created together and grateful for her friendship!”
“REMAINS” follows Alice’s recent cover of The Smashing Pumpkins’ cult hit “Drown,” which she created with longtime collaborator Jupiter Keyes and was celebrated by Stereogum, who described the cover as “pretty radical.” In 2022, Alice shared her debut solo full length PREY//IV, which she made with Keyes, and is a singular and electrifying blast of raw emotion created with the influence of a lifetime lived wielding the sharp objects necessary to survive in the wake of trauma and abuse. PREY//IV includes the tracks “BABY TEETH” and “FAIR GAME.”
Check out “REMAINS” above and stay tuned for more from Alice Glass coming very soon.
