Sometimes you just know things are over when they’re over.  I’ve been working on something so I’m not quite finished.  I’ll let you know eventually.  Think of this shape, “O.” References will probably be lost.

Indie singer-songwriter Jaco Jaco has shared his latest single, “Over When It’s Over,” alongside a new visualizer, offering another preview of his forthcoming album, On the Levee, due July 10. The song appears as the sixth track on the upcoming release, continuing Jaco Jaco’s blend of introspective songwriting, warm indie rock textures, and emotionally resonant melodies.

“Over When It’s Over” explores the emotional aftermath of letting go, balancing bittersweet reflection with lush instrumentation and understated vocal delivery. The accompanying visualizer complements the song’s contemplative mood, creating an immersive experience that highlights the track’s cinematic atmosphere.

The new single follows a series of previews from On the Levee, building anticipation for what promises to be one of Jaco Jaco’s most personal and cohesive releases to date. According to the announced tracklist, the album will include:

  1. Charade
  2. Celebrate
  3. Levee
  4. Wager
  5. Rerun
  6. Over When It’s Over
  7. Heavy
  8. Make Believe

With its heartfelt lyricism and expansive production, “Over When It’s Over” reinforces Jaco Jaco’s talent for crafting intimate songs that linger long after the final note.

Jaco Jaco—the project of Philadelphia-based musician, visual artist, and former member of beloved indie-rock trio Sports, Jacob Theriot—releases “Over When It’s Over,” the final single from his new album, On the Levee, out July 10th. Following recent single “Wager,” “Over When It’s Over” is a melancholic, dreamy meditation on acceptance in the face of constant change. Reflecting on the song, Theriot says, “This song is about watching the world fly on by, but finding yourself strangely at peace with it.”

A lifelong songwriter who first picked up the bass at age 12, Theriot has spent years refining a sound that blends elements of funk, psychedelic pop, and dreamy ’70s AM rock. Theriot introduced Jaco Jaco with his 2024 debut Splat, and followed it up in 2025 with Gremlin, a warm, playful collection of songs that balances intricacy with an easygoing charm. Written in a burst of creativity over just a few months and largely recorded by Theriot himself in Philadelphia, the album captures a sense of spontaneity while remaining carefully arranged and deeply personal.
